Hello, I have a problem with a Citroën C4 Lounge. The problem was that the BSI (Built-in Systems Interface) was replaced because it had burned out. However, they installed one from a Citroën C4 Cactus, which has smart key programming. This Citroën C4 Lounge I have for repair uses a mechanical key. I used Diagbox to enter the VIN, PIN code, and the ECU control modules present in the BSI. But it won't let me change the configuration to select a mechanical key; only the smart key option appears.

Service:The Citroën C4 Lounge BSI from a C4 Cactus won't allow mechanical key configuration in Diagbox because the Cactus unit is hardware-locked to smart key systems.

Replace it with a compatible BSI matching your Lounge's part number (e.g., 9661940480 for mechanical key variants), or clone the original BSI data using FVDI/SVCI—read flash/EEPROM (like 95128), write to the new unit, then recode with VIN/PIN in Diagbox.

Configuration Steps
In Diagbox: BSI > Configuration > Manual Configuration > Vehicle Configuration > Protection-Access-Mechanical Assistance to select key type—but only on a matching BSI.

Recommendations
Verify part numbers via VIN, source from specialists, and get after-sales access codes if needed during coding.
