How to Install a 360-Degree Rearview Camera System on Non-Factory Vehicles

Jun 10, 2025
With advancements in automotive technology, a 360-degree panoramic camera system has become an essential feature for enhancing driving safety and convenience. Many vehicles do not come with this feature from the factory, but with the right tools and processes, you can add this functionality yourself. This guide provides a step-by-step procedure to install and calibrate a 360-degree camera system on models like Lexus or Peugeot 3008, specifically using the Alicar ACT V2 coding tool, transforming your vehicle into a safer and smarter vehicle.

To be able to enjoy the factory 360 camera in the Peugeot 3008 new model after 2016 –

and it was not factory-mounted, it is a way to supplement it-because it helps a lot in driving and parking the car.
The name 360 ... Well, I have doubts here whether it makes sense to call it that... but this is my personal opinion-without side cameras, it is incomplete 360 until we make a car move to cover the side image.
Of course, the description concerns the situation when we already have a rear camera mounted and we are missing only the front one
I assure you that the camera can be put on and here is a short description of how to do it.
Front camera-there are different numbers it is best to ask the seller so that there are no problems, they differ in resolution and this affects the shade of the display - from what I have noticed.
Although the newer cameras with higher resolution beats the quality of the older of

the first models – the same applies to the rear cameras.

Hopping

1- Camera

2- Buying a camera is best to e pand with the right plug – because there will be trouble later with

the right plug – because there will be trouble later with choosing

3- Two-piece camera basket – I managed to find on aliexpress but two attempts

the purchase ended with a refund and no shipment, but if someone wants and
has a lot of time, then let him try.
I can offer to download from my program a file to print the case in the form of a STL file

4- Most often, the black plastic element is already in our car and

it is enough to purchase the module itself – it is worth buying with the plug,

however, because the installation in the car is not to be expected.

5- Wires-note depending on the individual approach length may vary.

Red wire ok 3m
Cable yellow / green ok 3M
Torsion bar can ok 3M
Peshel to wire front
The exact lengths of the wires you have to travel yourself because it largely
depends on which way you want to conduct your beam.
Beam
The beam structure consists of two bundles
Part inside the cabin
The part to the front of the vehicle.
If we have a camera on the back – then this beam will be limited only to removing
two wires from the radio plug and extending them to the module – we do not
need to build in this case the power and weight of the camera.
MODULE POSITION
In the factory, the module is mounted on the passenger side under the post next

to the blower motor.

CONNECTION DIAGRAM

As you can see above we disconnect the rear camera from the radio and in this place we connect the module
We connect the rear camera to the module to enable the construction of a 360 view.
Here it is worth adding that such a connection if we do not yet have a front camera causes
the rear view to be displayed correctly – so the work can be spread over time without affecting the operation of the rear camera.
However, in order for it to work in this way, it is necessary to connect the module and both power and mass as well as CAN communications according to the diagrams – magnification below.

For a reminder of the colors

Due to the fact that the tunnel housing is dismantled in order to get to the radio as a mass, you can use the mass points in the middle part – we will have to drag the CAN and power from the BSI.

As for the radio itself, I pulled the plugs out of the radio plug and then used the empty plug and socket to connect the 2 video signal wires to the 360 module – but you might as well do it stiff.
The rear camera already has power and there is no need to call the rear camera power separately from the module.

Output beam front:

I used the hole in the bulkhead wall, which is located next to the inlet and is blinded by a black Cork – peshel with the wires of the front camera LED in the engine compartment on the passenger side.

Fixing the cable under the lamp and after the beam and after the front reinforcement completed directly plug into the camera without additional bumper connector – I think it is unnecessary. From the inside, the opening is easily traced behind the air supply channel from the fan to the air distribution kit.

All operations can be performed without removing the console. The above photos are taken as an example.COMPUTER CODING.

Before we start any encoding let's always backup the original encoding !!

You can use the oneclick function to encode – but due to the complexity of the parking function and the cameras used, it may not be effective-in this case, you must encode :

By utilizing the Alicar ACT V2 coding tool for wiring, coding, and calibration, you can successfully retrofit a 360-degree surround view system on vehicles without factory support. This DIY upgrade significantly enhances parking safety and overall driving experience. For detailed tutorials or assistance, refer to professional technicians or trusted online resources.
